Pilaf Rice

InterContinental Jakarta MidPlaza is delighted to announce that it will be hosting a Middle East Food Festival on 11th & 25th October 2013 at Rasa Restaurant. This exclusive culinary event will take diners on an uplifting journey to explore the exotic flavours of neighbouring Arab lands.

The Middle East refers to a large region that covers most of Western Asia and Egypt. It is home to many different ethnic groups and styles of cuisine. Items such as olives, grains, chickpeas, parsley and mint are common ingredients used in traditional Middle Eastern cooking.

Middle Eastern dining etiquette often involves sharing food from communal platters placed in the centre of the table. Flat bread is used to scoop up tasty morsels from each dish using only the thumb and two fingers on the right hand. There is a strong cultural emphasis on enjoying meals with family and friends.
