Shangri-La Hotel, Jakarta will take part in the excitement of the acclaimed Shangri-La International Festival of Gastronomy by presenting the Michelin two-starred Chef Enrico Bartolini, who will travel from Devero Restaurant in Milan, Italy to showcase his unique menu at Rosso, the hotel’s Italian restaurant, from 25 to 29 October 2016.

The festival will celebrate an illustrious line-up of 12 chefs at 11 Shangri-La hotels. The 12 chefs – three of whom have restaurants listed in The World’s 50 Best Restaurants – will headline Shangri-La’s culinary event.

The festival is on its second running since its first inception in 2015 and will be simultaneously launched at 11 of the group’s hotels in 10 cities: Beijing, Hong Kong, Jakarta, London, Manila, Paris, Taipei, Tokyo, Shanghai, and Singapore.

Returning to the gastronomy festival for the second year, Chef Bartolini will present his flawlessly executed contemporary classic cuisine that is inspired by the past and present. His dishes are intensely flavoured and aesthetically perfect for photography. Born in 1979 and brought up in Pescia, in the province of Pistoia, Chef Bartolini is lauded by food and wine critics as one of Italy’s most talented young chefs.

Chef Bartolini honed his culinary craft across Europe under world-class masters, such as Carlo Petrini, Mark Page and Massimiliano Alajmo, before taking up creative direction of Le Robinie Restaurant. Since 2010, he has been at the helm of the Devero Restaurant and Dodici 24 Quick Restaurant in Cavenago di Brianza, near Milan.

He received his first Michelin star when he was just 29 and his second at 33. Along with three Gambero Rosso forks and three L’Espresso Guide chef hats, the stars sealed his reputation as an internationally renowned chef.

Ever enterprising and imaginative, Bartolini has collaborated on a variety of culinary projects, including partnering with Krug Champagne on its ‘pop-up’ restaurant in Italy, developing a menu for first-class travellers on the airline Emirates, launching a line of beers with the Angelo Poretti Brewery and working with fashion brand Hermes to create dishes for its collection launch in Milan. In 2014, Bartolini developed the menu for Hong Kong’s first regional Italian concept restaurant called Sepa.

Penfolds Saint-Louis Collaboration

Penfolds is celebrating a collaboration with Europe’s most respected French glassmaker, Saint-Louis to acknowledge the art and culture of a service ritual long associated with the flagship Grange. This collaboration also recognises the first commercial release of only five 2012 Grange Imperial 6 litre bottles available on the planet.

The distinctive hand-made crystal objet d’art service vessel, Penfolds Aevum Imperial Service Ritual, was designed exclusively for the 2012 Grange Imperial.  It precisely balances and elevates the Imperial to facilitate the perfect pour. This statuesque design reflects a powerful and passionate union and painstaking hours of crafting and refining the perfect piece.  It also ratifies Penfolds reputation of innovation and experimentation while respecting customs of the past and the rarity and splendour of every drop of Grange.

“Care, double decanting and ceremony is woven into the fabric of Penfolds and transcends the ordinary. The elevation of the service ritual by way of the Penfolds Aevum Imperial Service Ritual enhances the enjoyment of Grange to release aromas and flavours through aeration, and importantly delivers an unforgettable visual experience and sense of occasion,” says Peter Gago, Penfolds Chief Winemaker.

This is the first time Saint-Louis, who has been making handcrafted crystal objects in France since 1586, has collaborated with a global brand outside of Europe. “When talent, heritage and know how come together, the journey from craft to ritual can be truly extraordinary. The collaboration between Penfolds and Saint-Louis represents a marriage of two masters of their crafts. This is the first time something of this calibre has taken place and the first time that we have collaborated with a winemaker at this level,” says Jérôme de Lavergnolle, Chief Executive Officer of Saint-Louis. 

As part of the collaboration, a limited edition release of smaller sculptured decanters Penfolds Aevum Crystal Decanter, accompany the 750ml 2012 Grange and are also available. Each decanter features the striking diamond cut, a signature hallmark of Saint-Louis. Hand-blown, hand crafted.

Wonderfruit Festival, Thailand’s pioneering sustainable, eco-friendly, cross-cultural live celebration of art, music and life, today announces further live and DJ additions to the 2016 line up.

Lianne La Havas, Shura, Stephan Bodzin, YokoO, Marc Antona, Uone, Blitzen Trapper, Buke & Gase and Eric Volta have all been added to the musical line up on the Wonderfruit’s Living Stage, Farm Stage, Solar Stage, The Quarry and Forbidden Fruit – joining the previously-announced acts including Rudimental, Young Fathers, Wolf + Lamb, Mad Professor, Matador and more.




[LIVING STAGE] Having released two UK top 5 albums to date and performed on stage with the likes of Prince and Coldplay - MOBO and Grammy-nominated artist Lianne La Havas is confirmed to perform Wonderfruit’s Living Stage this year. 2015 BBC Sound Poll artist Shura will play the also play the Living Stage, with her acclaimed debut album ‘Nothing’s Real’ released earlier this year. Mercury Prize-winning trio Young Fathers are set to headline the stage, as well as Rudimental, who will be performing songs from their UK number 1 albums ‘We The Generation’ and the platinum-selling ‘Home’. Other highlights on the Living Stage this year include Buke and Gase, multi-instrumentalist duo from Brooklyn, and experimental alternative country band Blitzen Trapper.

[FORBIDDEN FRUIT] Among the acts confirmed to play the Forbidden Fruit at Wonderfruit this year include New York duo Wolf + Lamb and Uone - who will present a tribute to David Bowie and Prince.

[SOLAR STAGE] During sunset and sunrise at Wonderfruit, the only activity on site will be the acts performing on the Solar Stage. Chicago-born house and techno producer Kate Simko will bring her acclaimed electronic-meets-classical live show with the London Electronic Orchestra to the Solar Stage, along with dub producer Mad Professor and house DJ/producer YokoO. These sunset and sunrise sets on the Solar Stage will create an opportunity for Wonderers to come together at the beginning and end of each day. The Solar Stage will also host Wonderfruit 2016’s closing party, with Music On stalwart Marc Antona and Eric Volta - the producer behind one of 2013’s most-played tracks - bringing an end to the festival’s music programming for another year.

[FARM STAGE] Wonderfruit’s Farm Stage will play host to acts including Thai live favourite The Superglasses Ska Ensemble - one of the many local artists confirmed for this year’s line up. And to celebrate one of Thailand’s greatest exports and mark the village’s annual harvest, the Farm Stage will be completely covered in un-milled rice from local farmers. After the event the rice will be milled ready for eating and donated back to the local community.

[THE QUARRY] Irish techno DJ and producer Matador will play the The Quarry at Wonderfruit this year, alongside Ukrainian DJ and Propaganda Records boss Nastia, German techno innovator Stephan Bodzin and the US-based DJ Dragon.

Wonderfruit is like no other festival: incredible natural adventures, art installations from the world’s leading architects, sustainability, local and global community, Thai culture, health, wellness and an incredible music line up. Marathon and Chef Temptation


Bertepatan dengan digelar event Mandiri Jakarta Marathon 2016 pada 23 Oktober mendatang, Millennium Hotel Sirih Jakarta memberikan serangkaian promo berupa Stay and Run Package dan beberapa hidangan favorit ala chef profesional. Etihad Airways Celebrates World Animal Day #Etihad4wildlife


Etihad Airways, the national airline of the UAE, has launched a new Animal Welfare and Conservation Policy and an #Etihad4wildlife social media competition as part of the airline's ongoing efforts to promote wildlife conservation.

The policy establishes best practice for excursions offered by Etihad Holidays involving animals, and also outlines new criteria for the carriage of endangered and threatened species, hunting trophies containing any animal parts, shark fins and live animals intended for use in scientific research, which will not be permitted on aircraft. The policy also sets out commitments to the Declaration of the United for Wildlife International Taskforce on the Transportation of Illegal Wildlife Products, to which Etihad Airways became a signatory in March 2016 at an official ceremony at Buckingham Palace. Six equity partner airlines followed suit in April and June to support efforts to prevent the growing trade in wildlife products.

To mark World Animal Day, Etihad Airways is running a social media competition until 6 October, to win a trip to Sri Lanka, including flights, hotels, tours and transfers. To be in with a chance of winning, entrants should share their best travel photos of animals in the wild using the #Etihad4wildlife hashtag on Instagram and Twitter.


Peter Baumgartner, Chief Executive Officer of Etihad Airways, said: “Our airline is committed to the welfare and protection of wildlife. Our new policy has been developed over several months to minimize our ‘animal footprint’ and will ensure that we continue to meet the highest standards of animal welfare. By hosting the #Etihad4Wildlife campaign online, we also hope to raise awareness among our guests of the important issue of wildlife conservation.”

On 10 October, Etihad Airways will host a discussion on wildlife within the airline industry with Will Travers OBE, President of the Born Free Foundation and internationally renowned wildlife expert. The Born Free Foundation has provided technical assistance in developing the airline’s new policy by offering best practice criteria on holiday activities that involve viewing or interacting with animals. Etihad Holidays has reviewed its offerings in accordance with the Association of British Travel Agents’ (ABTA) Global Welfare Guidance of Animals in Tourism.

In addition, the airline is supporting the Born Free Foundation’s Travelers’ Animal Alert – an online tool that gives holiday-makers around the world an opportunity to raise concerns about any cases of animal suffering encountered on their trips. Guests who wish to support the charity in the air can purchase a bracelet, featuring a silver African lion charm, or donate their Etihad Guest Miles when on the ground.

Michelin-starred Chef Francesc Rovira @ VIEW, Fairmont Jakarta

Fairmont Jakarta dengan bangga menghadirkan Michelin-starred Chef Francesc Rovira di restoran VIEW untuk menyajikan makan malam ekslusif dengan wine pairing, pada 12 Oktober 2016.

Chef Francesc adalah pemilik restoran La Fonda Xesc yang terletak di Girona, Spanyol. Chef yang telah meraih penghargaan bintang Michelin pada tahun 2009 ini, akan berkolaborasi dengan Andrew Zarzosa, Executive Chef di Fairmont Jakarta untuk menghadirkan cita rasa otentik masakan Spanyol yang dikemas dengan apik untuk makan malam istimewa. 

Adapun menu yang akan dihadirkan terdiri dari menu-menu populer dari restaoran La Fonda Xesc seperti Lobster with Season Vegatable and Wild Mushroom dan Sea Bass with Zucchini, Peach, Grape and Fennel. Sementara itu chef Andrew akan menghadirkan menu andalannya dari restoran VIEW seperti Wagyu Beef Sirloin dengan King Trumpet Tobanyaki, Lemongrass-Sweet Corn dan Kale, serta Vegetable Harvest yang terdiri dari berbagai jenis sayuran yang dimasak dengn berbagai teknik. Hidangan akan ditutup dengan menu Sauce Red Berries dengan Lychees dan Lemon Verbena dari Chef Francesc.

Sagura Viudas merupakan jenis minguman anggur sparkling atau disebut juga cava dari daerah Penedes di Spanyol. Minuman ini memiliki rasa yang elegan sehingga sangat cocok dinikmati dengan menu pembuka dari chef Francesc. Hidangan Lobster dan Sea Bass masing-masing akan dipadukan dengan Orube dan Mas De Subira. Sementara itu, red wine dari Valdubon akan menyempurnakan menu utama Wagyu beef. Layaknya chef terkemuka lainnya di dunia, Chef Francesc mempelajari teknik memasak dari sang ibu ketika ia bekerja di penginapan milik keluarga bernama “La Fonda”. Chef Francesc kemudian mengambil alih usaha keluarga tersebut dan mengubah dapurnya menjadi restoran. Ia senang memasak menggunakan bahan-bahan lokal dan mengubahnya menjadi hidangan Spanyol yang lezat, otentik namun dikemas dengan teknik yang mutakhir. Masakannya dikenal memiliki cita rasa yang bersahaja dan terdiri dari perpaduan berbagai rasa dan tekstur.
