Meliá Hotels International Raih Best Sustainable Development & Corporate Responsibility Project


Meliá Hotels International menerima penghargaan “Best Sustainable Development and Corporate Responsibility Project” di acara penghargaan bergengsi Worldwide Hospitality Awards untuk projek "Improving Life in Kairo, Kiwenga" yang dipromosikan oleh hotel Meliá Zanzibar, Tanzania, di mana fokus tim hotel sepenuhnya untuk meningkatkan kondisi kehidupan masyarakat sekitar desa Kairo di Kiwenga.

Perekonomian Pulau Zanzibar biasanya bergantung pada pertanian, tetapi reformasi ekonomi dan pemberian insentif bagi investasi telah mendorong pariwisata dan perdagangan sebagai pendorong utama dalam pembangunan ekonomi dan sosial. Terlepas dari kemajuan ini, saat ini masih banyak desa-desa yang hidup dalam kemiskinan dan tidak memiliki akses pada kebutuhan dasar yang penting seperti air minum dan listrik. Berkat kesadaran tim hotel Meliá Zanzibar atas kondisi ini, mereka melakukan sebuah proyek untuk meningkatkan kondisi kehidupan masyarakat sekitar desa Kairo di Kiwenga.


Inti dari proyek ini adalah untuk membina dialog langsung dengan orang- orang yang berhubungan dengan hotel, melibatkan pemilik hotel, staf, manajemen, pemasok serta masyarakat setempat secara langsung untuk menciptakan dampak positif dalam membuat Kairo menjadi tempat yang lebih baik untuk hidup, berbagi pengetahuan, pengalaman, sumber daya dan komitmen Meliá Hotels International untuk tanggung jawab sosial di tempat-tempat di mana perusahaan beroperasi.

Projek yang dipimpin oleh tim serta pemilik hotel, ASB Tanzania Ltd, telah memenuhi kebutuhan dasar penduduk desa melalui penyediaan barang-barang konsumsi, pembangunan sumur untuk menyediakan air minum, dan renovasi 35 rumah dengan atap, toilet dan kamar mandi baru. Selain itu, masjid setempat yang merupakan pusat pertemuan bagi masyarakat juga telah dibangun kembali. Investasi langsung telah mencapai lebih dari 145.000 Euro.

Tim hotel juga mempromosikan penggunaan sayuran lokal pada gerai makanan di hotel, menggunakan rumah kaca sendiri untuk membantu penduduk desa mempelajari lebih banyak tentang pertanian dasar untuk meningkatkkan swasembada. Sebagian besar staf hotel yang berasal dari orang-orang lokal juga turut memajukan perekonomian desa antara lain melalui pembelian amenities dan aksesoris buatan lokal seperti gelang untuk paket all-inclusive.


Pengembangan dan nilai-nilai lokal juga didukung melalui program pendidikan dan olahraga, dengan tim hotel yang sangat aktif dalam mengatur kegiatan di sekolah setempat dan mendukung tim sepak bola desa dengan menyediakan material yang dibutuhkan. Komitmen ini juga meluas ke tamu-tamu hotel yang memiliki kesempatan untuk mengunjungi desa untuk mempelajari lebih lanjut tentang kehidupan desa dan berkontribusi pada keberlanjutan dari proyek ini dan dinamisasi perekonomian desa.

Proyek ini adalah bagian dari Global Corporate Social Responsibility Model dari Meliá Hotels International dan mencerminkan komitmen perusahaan untuk mengembangkan masyarakat lokal di mana perusahaan beroperasi, berbagi dengan masyarakat sekitar dengan memberikan kontribusi untuk menciptakan kekayaan dan nilai. Ten Great Examples of Video Content Marketing

Everyone likes to watch videos on the web.


According to official statistics from YouTube, they have” over a billion users — almost one-third of all people on the Internet — and every day people watch hundreds of millions of hours on YouTube and generate billions of views.”  The statistics portal Statista notes “As of July 2015, more than 400 hours of video were uploaded to YouTube every minute, up from 300 hours per minute in November 2014.”

Wacky cats, wacky stunts, cute cats, cute kids, offensive comedy, and R-rated content are some of the most popular methods to drive traffic. But if someone is trying to promote a product, service, personality or other business, traffic isn’t always the most important metric. Reaching the right audience with the right message becomes the goal. Cute babies might get clicks, but not business.


Audiences are bombarded by words and messages. In a short attention world addicted to entertainment, videos serve as great vehicles for public relations. But videos can be expensive and time-consuming to produce. To discover what works, an all-star panel of publicists and marketers gave us their best advice and, along with me, selected a few of their favorites.  Here’s how to gain market share, reach audiences and achieve some of your public relations goals using video in a very competitive world.

“What makes a good content marketing video?’ asks Michelle Messenger Garrett of Garrett Public Relations. “It should reflect your tone of voice. And you should know the goal behind the video. What are you trying to achieve?”  Garrett adds “User-generated video is a very inexpensive way to go with video content marketing–and it can be very effective.”


David Spark, of brand journalism and media consulting firm Spark Media Solutions, notes the value of emotion.  “One of the big values of video is you can see emotion. So often corporate videos are devoid of emotion because they’re so heavily scripted, prepared, or they’re just spouting out marketing jargon. My favorite part of video, and what can make a great video, is when you watch people react. Take a look at the reality shows and look at how many times they cut away to reaction shots, and how the reaction alone can tell far more about what the person said than the actual words that came out of their mouth. For that reason, I like to produce funny “man on the street” videos where I purposely go out of my way to ask the question you’re not supposed to ask.”

“For example, at the RSA security show I’ve asked people to give me their password. At VMworld, I’ve asked people how they explain virtualization to their mom. And at Dreamforce, I’ve asked people “When is the best time to swear at your customers?” Watch the videos and you’ll see there are lots of people simply reacting to the question. You want to spark a conversation in the industry, these kinds of videos do it.”


Spark says big tech events can be a goldmine for user-generated video. “Very few people can absorb an entire event after the fact in real time. But, everyone would like a five-minute summary of the event. You could do that, and co-opt the event’s brand for your needs.” (Robert Wynne – FORBES)

Anantara Seminyak Bali Hosts Seminyak’s First Charity Fun Run


Anantara Seminyak Bali Resort held Seminyak’s first charity run event on 29 October 2016 with great success. 1,000 participants of all ages gathered from Australia, Thailand, Jakarta, Semarang, Surabaya and Bali to take part in the 3km Sunset Run 2016, including two prestigious Indonesian athletes - the gold medal winner of the 2014 and 2015 Asian Games, Maria Londa, and Bali’s marathon athlete, Nicolas Albinus Sila.

The first 10 runners who completed the track all received a special prize from Vietura Artisan of Anti Aging Bali. Nicolas Albinus Sila, Bali’s marathon athlete, crossed the line in first place, followed by Samgar Kelasi (Indonesia) Andika Andryawan (Bali), Paul Mckay (Australia), Ismail (Indonesia), Daniel Michael Kuntz (Russia), Gusti Ngurah Jayarusyana (Bali), Pawel Slomka (Australia), Ni Ketut Cita (Bali) and Dedek Buana (Indonesia).

As a flagship charitable event, the Sunset Run 2016 raised US$ 1,300 for two non-profit organisations in Bali - the Suryani Institute for Mental Illness which is dedicated to improving the mental health system, and Yayasan Senyum Bali which helps people suffering from craniofacial disabilities.

Off Da Wall


YELLO Hotel Harmoni, pertama di Jakarta, telah menerima lebih dari empat puluh hasil karya dari street artist amatir & profesional sepanjang bulan Oktober hingga akhirnya terpilih dua puluh delapan seniman terbaik untuk diundang berkompetisi langsung di festival urban Off Da Wall pertama di ibukota.

Beberapa tahun belakangan ini seni urban di Indonesia memasuki fase yang menarik dimana berbagai komunitas tumbuh berkembang serta bermunculannya seniman muda yang lebih ‘berani’ mengeksplorasi bakat mereka demi mencuri perhatian publik.

La Hoya Comida Mexicana – For Tex Mex Lovers


Tidak banyak restoran Meksiko di Jakarta, maka ketika berkunjung ke La Hoya Comida Mexicana, seperti menemukan “oase” di belantara kuliner Jakarta. Berlokasi di Gandaria City Gandaria City Mall, restoran ini tidak hanya menawarkan makanan khas Meksiko, tapi juga menyajikan atmosfer Amerika Utara, dengan live band yang memainkan lagu-lagu Latin. Saat ini ada acara “Latin Jazz Night” setiap Sabtu malam, mulai jam 19.00 WIB.

La Hoya adalah restoran baru yang dikelola oleh Arena Corp, yang sudah terlebih dahulu membuka sejumlah restoran yang sudah populer, sebutlah Seribu Rasa, Hong Kong Cafe, Delika, Tatsuya, dan Penang Bistro. Restoran ini menyajikan makanan Mexican ala Tex-Mex style, mulai dari salad, chicken wings, nachos, tacos, burritos, churros, soup, steak, dan lain-lain, yang dibandrol mulai dari Rp 33.000 hingga Rp 235.000. Mereka juga menyajikan minuman, mulai dari non alkokol, hingga alkohol, termasuk bir, cocktail, dan wine, dengan harga mulai dari Rp 12.000 hingga Rp 125.000 per gelas. Jangan lupa tequila dan cocktail margarita yang menjadi andalan restoran Latin tersebut.

Soal porsi, jangan bayangkan besar ala porsi orang-orang bule, karena di sini sudah disesuaikan dengan porsi orang-orang lokal Indonesia. Jadi, pas. Buen provecho!
