Oriental, Jakarta is proud to welcome Pastry Chef Wita Girawati back to the
hotel after an intensive training in one of the most prestigious culinary
institutes, LeNôtre in Paris. Upon her return, Chef Wita will take the pastry
department to new heights with exciting range of innovative éclairs, high-end
desserts and handmade chocolates in the hotel's famous Cake Shop.
Chef
Wita's exciting 10-year career has taken her from Jakarta, the Maldives and now
back in Jakarta, with experiences in some five star hotels. Chef Wita's recent
culinary training in LeNôtre includes working alongside some of the world's
most talented pastry mastermind such as Christophe Rhedon and Gaetan Paris,
both of whom had won the Meilleur Ouvrier de France or Best Craftsmen of
France.
The
upcoming pastry creation that will be launched in January at the Mandarin
Oriental Cake Shop includes the passion fruit and raspberry éclair, as well as
the much-anticipated strawberry Kronuts. Combining the refreshing sweet and
sour flavours of raspberry and passion fruit, the pastry chefs are whipping up
the much-loved light French pastries with delicious cream fillings and decadent
toppings to delight guests. The delicious éclair consists of passion fruit
cream filling and finished with passion fruit carmalade and fresh raspberries,
priced at IDR35.000+ per portion.
Adding
sweetness in the first month of 2014, the Cake Shop will also launch its latest
Kronut creation, which highlights strawberry flavour. The Kronut features
crusty dough filled with strawberry cream and topped with fresh strawberries.
They are available daily from 2pm to 6pm, priced at IDR 35.000+ per portion.
Each month, Chef Wita will come up with a new éclair and Kronut variance to
delight guests.
At
Mandarin Oriental, Jakarta, Chef Wita and team are working hard for the hotel's
new dessert menu that will be launched in February. The new menu will feature
Matcha Goma, Emeraude Cake, Piemonte Hazelnut Cake and many more.

To help diners to appreciate the cuisine, Cinnamon restaurant will host one of
the famous traditional Sundanese cuisines from West Java. For an explosion of
amazing flavours, try Nasi Timbel. This delicious offering consists of hot
steamed rice wrapped in banana leaves and served with various side dishes such
as fried chicken, empal gepuk (fried beef), jambal roti (saleted fish), tahu
goreng, tempeh, salted duck egg and sayur asem, with lalab and sambal. The
traditional Nasi Timbel is available for lunch and dinner at IDR 168,000++.

Truffle, considered as the ultimate delicacy of the edible fungi and
compliments the finest of foods and wines, will be available at this award-winning
French restaurant throughout January 2014.

The
Chinese New Year, or often referred to as the Lunar New Year has always been
known as the most important tradition for the Chinese. It is believed that the
annual reunion dinner is one way to gain luck throughout the year. To make it
even more prosperous, Xin Hwa, as an award-winning Chinese restaurant at
