As the cherry blossom season arrives, cherry trees in France are blooming in pink and white hues. To celebrate the coming of these beautiful blooms, Mandarin Oriental, Jakarta’s Executive Chef, Thierry Le Queau, presents a delectable menu using this delicacy to tempt diners at Lyon restaurant from now until 15 June 2014.
The menu highlights La Burlat cherries which will be flown in from Monts De Venasque in Vaucluse, Provence, the largest cherry producer in France. Known as “the queen” of cherries due to its tender and generous flesh, La Burlat cherries pair perfectly with Chef Thierry’s classic yet innovative French cuisine.
Throughout the month of May, guests can enjoy tantalising main courses featuring Périgord field farm moulard duck foie gras with salt-baked beets and “cerises”, as well as Duck “aux cerises” with foie gras, cauliflower basil, grilled spring onion and pinot wine jus. For dessert, guests can indulge in the mouthwatering sablée tart with “cerises giboulée” ice cream with nougatine of Sicilian pistachio and “clafoutis aux cerises” with milk ice cream.
Savour this seasonal cherry-inspired feast during lunch and dinner at Lyon restaurant.
