Kampoeng Kopi Banaran, a captivating agro-tourism destination nestled in the coffee plantations of Semarang Regency, is attracting an increasing number of visitors. This 39.11-hectare estate is renowned for its robusta coffee plants and offers a unique adventure experience for nature enthusiasts.
Situated at an altitude of 480 to 600 meters above sea level, the plantation is characterized by its hilly terrain and steep paths, perfect for adventurous exploration. On November 23, 2021, members of the Himpunan Anak Media (HAM) Jakarta embarked on an exciting journey through this picturesque landscape.
The exploration began with a thrilling jeep tour through the narrow asphalt roads that snake between the coffee plants. Unfortunately, the coffee harvest had already ended, so the visitors missed the sight of ripe, red coffee cherries. However, the lush shade trees, known as lamtoro, provided a cool and refreshing atmosphere.
Recent rains had left the stone paths slick, posing a challenge for some of the jeeps on the steep climbs. Nevertheless, the experienced drivers managed the tricky terrain with ease, often collaborating to tow vehicles when necessary. This gave passengers ample opportunity to capture stunning photos against the backdrop of the verdant landscape.
Despite the bumpy ride, passengers enjoyed the journey as the skilled drivers shared insights into the coffee harvesting process, from picking the beans to gathering them at the collection shelters. From certain vantage points along the 5-kilometer route, visitors could catch glimpses of Rawa Pening in the distance. During the coffee flowering season, the air is filled with the enchanting fragrance of coffee blossoms.
